Health Benefits of Magnesium
"Magnesium is extremely important for your health because it is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Magnesium is fourth most prevalent mineral in the body and is partially responsible for countless aspects good, sound health. Roughly 50% of our body’s total magnesium is stored in our bones, while the remaining part of magnesium is predominantly found in the cells of body tissues and organs. Only 1% of magnesium is available in blood, although the human body is very good at regulating a constant level of magnesium in the blood."

Breastfed, Homebirthed Babies Taken Away From Parents For Not Using Hospital
"All three of their babies have been taken away from them and placed in the care of strangers. Levi was 10 months old when his mother, local singer and songwriter Erica May Rengo, gave birth to his twin brother and sister, at their home in Bellingham, Washington."

New Paper Finds Strong Evidence the Sun Has Controlled Climate Over the Past 11,000 Years...Not CO2
"A paper published today in Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics finds a "strong and stable correlation" between the millennial variations in sunspots and the temperature in Antarctica over the past 11,000 years. In stark contrast, the authors find no strong or stable correlation between temperature and CO2 over that same period."

FDA weighs lifting ban on blood donations from gay men
"Advisers for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will meet next week to decide whether gay men should be allowed to donate blood, the agency’s biggest step yet toward changing the 30-year-old prohibition. If the FDA accepts the recommendation from its advisory board, it would roll back a policy that has faced mounting criticism from LGBT advocates and some members of Congress for more than four years."

School Expels Child Over Vaccine That Even the Doctor Refuses to Give
"An 8 year-old Long Island girl has been kicked out of school, and the reason is outrageous. Ceili McNicholas was told not to return to Long Island’s Laddie A. Decker Sound Beach School after her mother Jamie refused to let her receive the T-Dap booster, which protects against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis. The decision to skip the booster wasn’t solely Jamie’s idea – her daughter’s pediatrician won’t administer the shot because it is labeled for children ages 10 and over. Ceili is only 8. “If we give that T-Dap vaccination between 7 and 10, we are using it off label. And it’s not licensed for usage.. So if we can’t use it, then we are the ones going to be held liable,” Long Island pediatrician Dr. Mary Renna told CBS New York."

Pad Your Pantry: How to Preserve Your Thanksgiving Leftovers
"The day after Thanksgiving, most people’s refrigerators are so full with leftovers that getting to door shut requires the family engineer to play Tupperware Jenga with all of the containers of food. Inevitably, in many households, much of the leftovers go to waste after the 10th turkey sandwich in a row. In this economy, none of us can afford to let anything go to waste, however. There’s a lot more you can do with those leftovers besides referring to your book of 101 Ways to Make a Turkey Sandwich. The preserving goes way past turkey – there are lots of tasty ways to preserve your other leftovers too."

Prominent Michigan Cancer Doctor Pleads Guilty: ‘I Knew That It Was Medically Unnecessary’
"Dr. Farid Fata, a prominent cancer doctor in Michigan, admitted in court to intentionally and wrongfully diagnosing healthy people with cancer. Fata also admitted to giving them chemotherapy drugs for the purpose of making a profit. The cancer doctor’s guilty plea shocked many in the courtroom, according to The Detroit Free Press. Fata owned Michigan Hematology Oncology, which had multiple offices throughout Detroit’s suburbs. Fata’s reach included offices in Clarkston, Bloomfield Hills, Lapeer, Sterling Heights, Troy, and Oak Park, Michigan. The doctor stated his plea in the absence of a plea deal and with tearful eyes, according to CBS News."

New Research Shows How Virtual Reality Shuts Down The Brain
"Virtual reality is already being embraced for its entertainment value, as well as by the military and the scientific establishment. It is also a goal of The Singularity Movement to enable a full mind upload as we increase our merger with machines toward a path of supposed immortality. However, scientists are beginning to study the effects of how virtual reality can impact one’s perception of themselves inside the virtual matrix, as well as a potential for transferred perceptions of those around them in the real world. Early conclusions are troubling. It appears that not only can our moral behavior be affected, but parts of our brain that register spatial awareness and movement actually shut down when entering even the most realistic virtual environment."

"Body recognition" compares with fingerprint ID
"University of Adelaide forensic anatomy researchers are making advances in the use of "body recognition" for criminal and missing persons cases, to help with identification when a face is not clearly shown."

(Sgt Trainer: This is totally unnecessary and abhorrent! This example of attempting to force parents to utilize the medical establishment for a wide gamut of "medical issues" is a slap in the face of those who desire to utilize natural medicines and/or procedures for whatever "ails" them. This is just another example of the massive goal of keeping people under the thumb of the establishment and corporate entities. This is not the first story I've seen regarding a CPS taking one or more children from their natural parents...and a loving environment...and placing them in "foster" homes that have a history of neglect and abuse. While most foster homes provide a needed and necessary environment for those children who are "at risk", we are hearing more and more about CPSs taking kids for a variety of "reasons" that absolutely make no sense. Common sense in this country seems to have been overridden (or abolished) in favor or toeing the corporate line.)

Mindfulness program may improve some rheumatoid arthritis symptoms
"A two-month program combining gentle yoga with meditation techniques, known as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, seemed to ease tenderness, pain and stiffness among patients with rheumatoid arthritis in a new study. “I think these findings are pretty consistent with other studies of mindfulness and chronic conditions,” said Mary Jo Kreitzer, who was not involved in the research. Although it was small, and relatively brief, the study’s findings were impressive, said Kreitzer, the founder and director of the University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing. “I would say more research is needed to really understand how the mechanisms work,” Kreitzer told Reuters Health, “so this trial is incredibly encouraging, but it’s not definitive.”

Man arrested after pointing banana at police
"A man is facing a felony menacing charge, because two Colorado sheriff's deputies say they thought a banana he pointed at them was a gun. The deputies said they feared for their lives even though they saw that the object was yellow. Bunch wrote in the affidavit that he has seen handguns in many shapes and colors. He wrote that Love was drawing his service weapon when Channing, of Fruitvale, Colo. yelled, "It's a banana!"
(Sgt Trainer: This is just plain ignorant! If a law enforcement official [LEO] gets put in fear for his life because of a banana, then said person needs to find another line of work. What's going on here is that a lot of LEOs are so scared of the general population that they would rather shoot first and ask questions later. They feel they will be protected...and for the most part, they are. This is what is driving a large portion of shootings of "innocents" that pose absolutely zero threat to said LEO. The typical motto of most, if not all, LEOs is "go home alive at the end of the day" and is a noteworthy one, however it must not be used as "carte blanche" to forgo using common sense of "target recognition" and "identifying the threat" just to do so. As a LEO, you cannot be constantly afraid of your own shadow to the extent that you place innocent people at risk or constantly confront people with the threat of death for no valid reason. Granted, the individual with the banana should have known better but LEOs are supposed to be able to determine what a credible threat is and are supposed to be able to do so in a matter of micro-seconds.)

Fats You Should Eat
"After a lifetime of being told not to eat fatty foods, you might be surprised to know that fats (at least some of them) are good for you. The American Heart Association recommends that you get 20-35% of your total caloric intake from fats. Fat is a source of “fatty acids”; these provide fuel for your body and allow your body to absorb certain vitamins. It’s which fats you eat that determine whether or not your diet is healthy."

Is a Preparedness Group for Me?
"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival”, by C.S. Lewis. When looking at preparedness groups or even mentioning such an idea, most Preppers I have encountered, would rather stick to themselves, “The Lone Wolf.” This article is not necessarily about building a preparedness group that comes together in the face of adversity, but my personal experience on how to build a group that comes together to teach valuable information that can save lives. Let’s face the facts, no one can be proficient in everything."

R.I.P checkbook, adios PIN number: How you’ll manage your money in 2020
"The checkbook is dead. While we’re at it, let’s write an obit for card readers too. And if you’ve ever worried about who might be looking over your shoulder at the ATM machine, or the exorbitant fee that money transfer will cost you, don’t fret. In years to come — not even that many — these problems won’t even exist as the way we bank and control our finances will change vastly. It already has in many ways. “We’re in this unprecedented space where technology is moving so quickly it’s starting to scare everyone,” said Gi Fernando, founder and investor of Free:Formers, a company which helps businesses and unemployed young adults with digital training. “It’s sooner than you think,” said Fernando, who claims in five years from now the technology behind how we manage our banking and finances will be unrecognizable."

Obama Kills Tax Cut Because It Didn’t Help Illegals
"President Barack Obama quietly killed a draft tax-cut because the GOP leadership wouldn’t agree to his demand that valuable tax breaks be given to millions of illegal immigrants, according to a Politico article about the secret negotiations."

Government uses 225-year-old law to force companies to unlock phones
"Late last month, a federal magistrate in New York approved a request filed by United States attorneys and compelled an unnamed cell phone maker to unlock a mobile device that had been seized by authorities pursuant to an investigation. In ordering the company to do as much, though, the judge agreed with an argument made weeks earlier by the US government in which its lawyers said the All Writs Act, a law first put on the books 225 years ago in 1789, should be evoked."

The latest data show rents are now moving higher. Here’s what you should know.
"Despite the subdued nature of U.S. CPI, some large components are turning up. Owners’ equivalent rent and rent of primary residence, which together account almost of a third of the CPI basket, are turning up strongly. A low vacancy rate and a relatively resilient U.S. economy is helping to drive rents higher, with San Francisco seeing the greatest rent increases, at 6.4% over the last year, and with many other cities, such as Nashville, Seattle, Denver, and Houston, all seeing increases of over 4.5% . Furthermore, our leading indicator for U.S. Shelter CPI, which includes apartment vacancy rates and the growth in the working-age population among its inputs, shows that the trend should continue. Higher rents are a strong support for headline CPI in the U.S."
