(Sgt Trainer: This is my absolute favorite show by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Even though it is approximately 45 minutes long I would strongly urge you to watch the entire thing for the story it tells.)
"Helen Johnson stared in amazement at the piles of food accumulating in her small Tarrant apartment on Wednesday. “The last time I saw my house this full, I was 12-years-old and staying with my grandmother,” said the 47-year-old mother and grandmother. “I’ve been crying all day.” On Wednesday, Tarrant police delivered two truckloads of groceries to the woman, who on Saturday was caught stealing five eggs from the nearby Dollar General. Instead of arresting Johnson, Tarrant Police Officer William Stacy bought her a carton of eggs and sent her home with the promise to never shoplift again."
"You probably thought that the worst thing your shampoo could do to you is to burn your eyes, but it turns out that your shampoo could be deadly. The Center for Environmental Health based in Oakland, California, performed a study on shampoos and soaps and found that at least 98 included a carcinogen known as cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA). Some of the products that contain high levels of the illegal chemical are sold under well-known companies such as Colgate Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, and Prell. Lab tests also found the carcinogen in children’s products, such as a store brand bubble bath from KMart, and a shampoo/conditioner from Babies R Us. Other store brand products that contain the carcinogen came from Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Kohl’s."
"Factory farms in the United States have been selling meat and dairy products as organic when they’re not and big strawberry growers have found a way to skirt rules about when fruit may be called organic. The Cornucopia Institute in Wisconsin says it has uncovered “one of the largest fraud investigations in the history of the organic industry.”
"A Missouri state lawmaker is trying to protect the Show Me State from becoming subject to the collectivists at the United Nations and their pet private property eliminating project: Agenda 21. On December 12, Missouri Representative Mike Moon (shown) introduced House Bill 216, legislation that would amend the state code to prohibit political subdivisions of the state from enacting any aspects of Agenda 21 or similar schemes. The bill reads: Neither the state of Missouri nor any political subdivision shall adopt or implement policy recommendations that deliberately or inadvertently infringe or restrict private property rights without due process, as may be required by policy recommendations originating in, or traceable to Agenda 21, adopted by the United Nations in 1992 at its Conference on Environment and Development or any other international law or ancillary plan of action that contravenes the Constitution of the United States or the Missouri Constitution."
"In short, what is happening now is that risk is coming out of hiding; the collateral chains are buckling; the financial time bombs are beginning to explode. There is nothing especially new about this development—its the third occurrence this century. But there is possibly something different this time around the block. This time the carnage could be much worse because the most recent tsunami of central bank credit was orders of magnitude larger and more virulent than during the run-up to the Lehman event or the dotcom implosion. Moreover, the central banks are now out of dry powder—– impaled on the zero-bound. That means any resort to a massive new round of money printing can not be disguised as an effort to “stimulate” the macro-economy by temporarily driving interest rates to “extraordinarily” low levels. They are already there."
"“PLANNING; SECURITY AND DEFENSE MEASURES; CONSISTS OF SHELTER, WATER AND COOKING FACILITIES; PROTECTION AGAINST COLD AND PROPER USE OF SLEEPING EQUIPMENT.”
"H. R. 5344 To prohibit the purchase, ownership, or possession of enhanced body armor by civilians, with exceptions. Mr. Honda (for himself, Ms. Kelly of Illinois, Mr. Hastings of Florida, and Mr. Pascrell) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary."
(Sgt Trainer: This bill's latest action was referred to Committee in September. As far as I've been able to find it is still in Committee. I would urge anyone looking to obtain Body Armor to get it as soon as you can in case this passes. Granted, it might be a while before this happens...if it does...but it is sometimes hard to ascertain how fast it would move forward and pass. Just one more item that folks can have to help protect themselves that is under possible threat.)
"In this society, psychiatrists are the primary definers of mental states. Their efforts are accepted as official science. The Psychiatric Political State is based on myths and fairy tales about distinct and separate disorders and “good treatment.” One of the main psychiatric mantras gaining force? “Everyone at some time in their lives will experience a mental disorder.” But an open secret has been slowly bleeding out into public consciousness for the past ten years. THERE ARE NO DEFINITIVE LABORATORY TESTS FOR ANY SO-CALLED MENTAL DISORDER."
"We've got a lot of constitutionalists... a lot of people that stockpile weapons"
"Emergency communication devices are an important part of any go bag. If traditional communication such as phone and web based connections are not available, an emergency communication device may save your life. While each family has different needs and may choose a different device, we’ll review the pros and cons of the 7 most popular options. Though all emergency communication devices have similar traits, such as being roughly the same size and weight, there are quite a few differences including range, price, battery licensing and more. You can find a side by side comparison of all emergency communication devices but here we’ll cover the main pros and cons of each device."
"The 5th Edition of The Preparedness Review (Winter 2014) has been released! TPR5 contains 18 articles, 67 pages of great preparedness content!!! The file size is a little over 2.4mb."
(Sgt Trainer: A good source of info...and free. In .PDF format.)
"This is the second of a series of three discussions about three improvised wood-fired “rocket” cook stoves I have made for my own outdoor use. In all three types, the stove top is at a convenient elevation above floor/ground. What I have done for my own use should not be construed to be advice to you or anyone else. Seek the advice of a safety professional regarding proper safety precautions for your situation."
