"Stop the presses! Startling new research shows that chocolate milk does not require degrees in chemistry and engineering to make! Who knew? Certainly not the Big Food monsters like Nestle, Hershey, and all of those other purveyors of flavored chemistry projects. Chocolate milk, that cold, creamy, decadent goodness, is one of life’s simple pleasures. But the kind that you get at the store isn’t so simple. The ingredients list sounds more like something you’d use to lubricate components on your car than wholesome things you’d want your children to consume. Here are the ingredients in a bottle of Nesquik Chocolate Milk: Milk, Corn Syrup High Fructose, Calcium Carbonate, Cocoa, Potassium Citrate, Sugar,Carrageenan, Guar Gum, Salt, Flavor(s) Natural & Artificial. So – we have hormone-laden conventional milk, pesticide laden and all-around awful-for-you HFCS (learn more here), 4 additives (because heaven forbid you have to actually shake your chocolate milk to remix the ingredients), some actual cocoa and sugar, and then “flavors” that they don’t bother naming – you don’t need to know what they are. Just trust Nestle. (They’re totally into owning all of the water on the planet and then selling it to us for our own good – very trustworthy people, those Nestle folks.)"
"We have seen and heard of the Muslim “no go zones” in France (pictured above) and other areas of Europe, but did you know there are Muslim “no go zones” already established in the United States? Now, you may be wondering why no one has contacted the Department of Justice. The DOJ already knows these zones are here, but they have done nothing about them. On January 15, PBS Newshour ran a story that homegrown terrorism worries North American analysts in the US and Canada. Even ABC is covering the threat of homegrown terrorists, saying it is very real. Members of Congress are stating that it is not a matter of if we will have another terrorist attack on our soil, it’s when. Even the DOJ is warning that attacks are coming. Perhaps they have known all along."
"Well. Here we go. The following open letter was posted to the ATF’s website today:
OPEN LETTER ON THE REDESIGN OF “STABILIZING BRACES”
The Firearms and Ammunition Technology Division (FATD), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has received inquiries from the public concerning the proper use of devices recently marketed as “stabilizing braces.” These devices are described as “a shooter’s aid that is designed to improve the single-handed shooting performance of buffer tube equipped pistols.” The device claims to enhance accuracy and reduce felt recoil when using an AR-style pistol. These items are intended to improve accuracy by using the operator’s forearm to provide stable support for the AR-type pistol. ATF has previously determined that attaching the brace to a firearm does not alter the classification of the firearm or subject the firearm to National Firearms Act (NFA) control. However, this classification is based upon the use of the device as designed. When the device is redesigned for use as a shoulder stock on a handgun with a rifled barrel under 16 inches in length, the firearm is properly classified as a firearm under the NFA."
"The answer in most cases is no unless your home is specifically designed to withstand an assault and you have a significant number of armed and trained personnel on hand. You would also need a support group off site that can engage the enemy using indirect fire and can resupply you if you are under siege for an extended period. There is a difference however, between an attack and an intrusion or break-in. The following is not a likely scenario by any means, unless the country as a whole collapses and anarchy rules and where no laws apply, and everyone is on their own. You have thought about this type of scenario, but of course have never experienced such a situation. Would you know what to do, and could you do what needs to be done. Most homes are not built with defense in mind other than heavy doors, locks on the doors and bars on the windows. Most heavy caliber rounds and some not so heavy could penetrate the walls of most homes. Rounds from a shotgun could unhinge the front door in a matter of seconds, windows can be shattered, and walls can be torn apart by gunfire. If you cannot defend your location then you have to bug-out to a location that can be defended. This is not practical for most people however, because where do you go, and are there such things as safe havens when the SHTF. Ask yourself can any structure be defended with limited personnel that while they have some firearms training, they have never been in a firefight before. Do you evacuate before something happens, or do you wait until you are under attack. It would be difficult if not impossible to bug-out while under attack, unless you have a support unit that can bring direct and/or indirect fire against the attackers."
"Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson acknowledged concerns Friday that terrorists might use the visa waiver program to enter the United States, and said his department is taking steps to address weaknesses in the program. Johnson told an aviation industry luncheon that he doesn't want to discard the program, which makes it easier for Americans to travel to friendly countries and for citizens of those countries to travel to the U.S. "It represents an important element of lawful commerce between and among our international partners," he said. But he noted that some of those countries also have citizens or legal residents who have left to fight or train with terrorist groups in the Middle East, Asia or Africa, then returned home intent on violence. For example, some citizens or residents of France and Germany have traveled to the Middle East to fight or train with al-Qaida or Islamic State militants. The concern is that those fighters will return to their home countries and from there travel to the U.S."
"Federal bureaucrats are pressuring banks and credit unions to close accounts for gun shops and other law-abiding businesses in an attempt to shut down those enterprises. That is the charge a US Congressman and others are making about a US Department of Justice effort called Operation Choke Point. “They figured that if they could cut off legal businesses’ ability to bank they could put those businesses that they don’t like out of business,” US Representative Sean Duffy (R-Wisconsin) said of Choke Point. Other critics agree. “This is one of the greatest abuses of power that the country has never heard of,” Brian Wise of the US Consumer Coalition told Fox News. Wise believes that federal officials pressured banks and credit unions into closing hundreds or thousands of bank accounts. Duffy alleged that Choke Point started as a legitimate effort to target fraudsters but it is now targeting legal businesses that federal bureaucrats find distasteful. Fox News reporter Mike Tobin labeled Operation Chokepoint the morality police."
"A state bureaucracy is threatening a mother with removal of an infant unless her entire family subjects themselves to flu shots. This is the dilemma that foster parent Jamie Smith is currently facing. The Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is giving the Tacoma family until February to comply with the mandated regimen of influenza vaccines — imposed on every member of the family — or else they will lose their youngest child, a 2-week-old foster infant that was born on Christmas."
"The routine is familiar. Your international flight lands in the United States. You are finally home. You grab your luggage and proceed through customs. “Where did you travel? Was it business or pleasure? Welcome home.” For the vast majority of travelers, that’s it. But over 5 million air travelers a year are sent to a “secondary inspection” where an officer may ask detailed questions about their travels and perform a thorough search of their bags. We regularly advise the community that U.S. citizens have an absolute right to enter the United States. That means a customs officer must let U.S. citizens into the country once they have declared the goods they are carrying and the countries they have visited. During a secondary inspection, however, customs officers might ask intrusive questions about the people you saw abroad, the places you went, information about your relatives and their livelihoods, your life in the United States, or your religious and political views and associations. U.S. citizens are not obligated to answer such non-routine questions to enter the United States. Aside from proving you are a U.S. citizen and filing a customs declaration with information about the countries you visited, you are not obligated to answer detailed questions about the things you did and the people you saw abroad. (For legal permanent residents and other non-citizens, the situation is more complicated and we recommend consulting an immigration attorney for personalized advice before traveling.) When a secondary inspection veers away from routine questioning, customs officers are no longer investigating whether you and the contents of your luggage may lawfully enter the country. Instead, they could be conducting an open ended intelligence-gathering operation. At that point, we recommend U.S. citizens politely assert their right to consult an attorney before answering any questions—the same way you should react if an FBI agent knocks on your door asking to speak with you. If you eventually decide to answer questions from law enforcement, it should be on your terms and with an attorney present to protect your interests. Many people choose not to speak to an FBI agent without an attorney’s advice if they are visited at home or at work. The government, however, may be doing an end-run around that choice by confronting people at the border when they may feel more vulnerable. We recently obtained government documents proving that a customs officer conducting a secondary inspection might be working at an FBI agent’s behest—and the custom officer’s detailed notes about your personal life and reading habits may end up in an FBI intelligence file."
"Cancer was practically unknown until cowpox vaccination began to be introduced in 1853…I never saw a case of cancer in an unvaccinated person.” – Dr. WB Clarke, New York Press, January 26th, 1909. Have you ever wondered what’s really in vaccines? According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control’s vaccine additives page, all the following ingredients are routinely used as vaccine additives:
• Aluminum – A light metal that causes dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. You should never inject yourself with aluminum.
• Antibiotics – Chemicals that promote superbugs, which are deadly antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria that are killing tens of thousands of Americans every year.
• Formaldehyde – A “pickling” chemical used to preserve cadavers. It’s highly toxic to the nervous system, causing blindness, brain damage and seizures. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services openly admits that formaldehyde causes cancer. You can see this yourself on the National Toxicology Program website, featuring its 12th Report on Carcinogens. There, the formaldehyde Fact Sheet completely neglects to mention formaldehyde in vaccines. This is the “dirty little secret” of government and the vaccine industry. It does state, however, that “…formaldehyde causes myeloid leukemia, and rare cancers including sinonasal and nasopharyngeal cancer.”
• Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) – A neurotoxic chemical called an “excitotoxin.” It causes brain neurons to be overexcited to the point of death. MSG is toxic even when consumed in foods, where it causes migraine headaches and endocrine system damage. You should NEVER inject MSG into your body. But that’s what health workers do when they inject you with vaccines.
• Thimerosal – A methyl mercury compound that causes severe, permanent nervous system damage. Mercury is highly toxic to the brain. You should never touch, swallow or inject mercury at any dose. There is no safe dose of mercury! Doctors and vaccine pushers LIE to you and say there is no mercury in vaccines. Even the CDC readily admits vaccine still contain mercury (thimerosal)."
"This graphic is the first in a planned series looking at the effects and chemistry of a range of different poisons. As such, it seemed appropriate to start with one of the most well known poisons: arsenic. Arsenic has been used by poisoners for centuries, primarily in the form of white arsenic, or arsenic trioxide, which this graphic focuses on. Arsenic Trioxide has, according to some sources, been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 5000 years. Whilst there is no definitive record of its first use as a poison, it’s doubtless been utilised as one for a number of centuries, over which it has been used to depose of relatives, officials, and rulers. Its popularity owes much to its appearance and smell: colourless and odourless, its addition to food is as a consequence difficult to detect. Arsenic was particularly popular as a poison in the 17th and 18th centuries, and it gained the nickname "inheritance powder" for the ubiquity of its use in disposing of spouses or relatives. What also helped was the fact that very little was required – in fact, little more than the size of a pea could constitute a lethal dose. It was, at the time, very easy to obtain in the amounts required to kill; Fowler’s solution, a popular medicinal tonic at the time, contained arsenic trioxide dissolved in potassium carbonate solution, and the compound could also be easily obtained as a rat poison. Additionally, prosecutors could often summon little in the way of evidence against poisoners, due to the lack of any chemical tests that could identify arsenic’s use. The initial symptoms of arsenic poisoning were often hard to distinguish from those of food poisoning at the time, another factor which made it difficult to prove cases of poisoning. Symptoms commonly appeared around thirty minutes after ingestion of arsenic, though this could be delayed if it was eaten with food. These symptoms included fatigue, headache, numbness, and palpitations. A metallic taste may also be noted in the mouth, and a victim’s breath may also develop an odour resembling that of garlic."
"Vitamin D, also known as the “sunshine vitamin,” is produced through our body’s natural response to sunlight exposure. Evidence has established a relationship between low vitamin D levels and higher mortality rates. A recent study conducted by researchers from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has revealed that vitamin D can lower a person’s risk for colorectal cancer by strengthening the immune system’s response to tumor cells. “People with high levels of vitamin D in their bloodstream have a lower overall risk of developing colorectal cancer,” lead researcher Dr. Shuji Ogino said in a statement. “Laboratory research suggests that vitamin D boosts immune system function by activating T cells that recognize and attack cancer cells. In this study, we wanted to determine if these two phenomena are related: Does vitamin D’s role in the immune system account for the lower rates of colorectal cancer in people with high circulating levels of the vitamin?”
"Let it all burn to the ground! I’ll be up in the hills with my survival group, two years’ worth of food and a ton of supplies. You can stay here and die. In fact, I hope you all die so I can walk back down here when you are dead and take all of your stuff that you were too stupid to protect.” Have you ever heard someone talk like that about the end of the world as we know it? I have many times. It is usually on survival forum posts or in the comments of prepper blogs that we hear this vitriol spewed from people who seem to eagerly anticipate a horrible SHTF event. I can’t even grasp the stupidity of comments like that and have to believe that anyone who says anything remotely similar is suffering from a serious lack of intelligence, maturity or both. How could anyone in their right mind want chaos and anarchy? Who would wish destruction on our entire civilization? There is another side to this topic though and that is a connected, but slightly different yearning I believe on the part of some preppers, who secretly hope in some small way for TEOTWAWKI in their lives also. This desire isn’t to see anyone harmed although they are probably aware this possibility must come with the territory. It is also not to take advantage of anyone like the comment above. Some preppers might be looking forward to “the big reset” caused by some global catastrophe, not because they are anarchists who want destruction but are instead searching for something more personal and intimate to the human experience. I believe that some people are secretly OK with the prospect of TEOTWAWKI because of how our society has become pathetic on some fronts, due to technological advances and nanny state bureaucracies. With all the advancements of science and industry, we have forgotten some of our native abilities and our lives are devoid of the challenges that strengthened and tested our forefathers. When the biggest fear is losing electricity, what has our life as human beings become? When everyone gets a trophy just for showing up, what is the point of striving in the contest of life? If your social life is plunged into a panic due to a brief outage on Facebook, how meaningful is that life? If even sledding must be banned due to the fear of lawsuits, how screwed up are our priorities? If the only answer to getting what you want is to riot, protest or a court battle, how weak have we become as a species, or perhaps more accurately; how much control have we willingly given away?"
"A sore throat can be a royal pain in the uh…throat. "This is a really cool way to grow your garden vegetables, especially if you live where there is not a lot of rain fall. You can have yours above ground or use the hybrid method and have it underground. This is really nice for small space gardening. It is not going to work for commercial farmers why plant acres of plants but for folks that want to have a small garden in the back yard or even a side yard or down an edge of the drive way. The above ground system is actually made with a gutter set into a wooden frame to keep it upright. The containers for your plants are 5 gallon buckets that have a hole in the bottom with a net cup inserted in the hole. The net cup will be the part that is down in the gutter when everything is assembled. Seedlings are planted in the buckets and a watering hose is attached on one end of the gutter. There is a float installed in the gutter that will automatically allow water from the hose into the gutter when more is needed. The plant roots get water through the net cup. The underground system works the same way except instead of a gutter a sewer pipe with holes cut out for grow bags with the net cup in them are used. This is a very easy way to keep your veggies watered and can be used again and again. Larry Hall invented and shares the videos on this awesome gardening system."
"Good sources of protein are an important part of our diet. That doesn't change in an emergency situation either. As such, it's important that your food storage and preparedness planning include a variety of good protein sources. So, the type of protein you choose is important. Complete proteins are better, as we discussed in our beans and rice post. With that basic information on protein in mind, you can review the following lists and incorporate the proteins into your dietary and food storage programs that you and your family enjoy. We've provided two lists: the first is geared toward foods with protein that are useful for food storage. The second list contains "fresh" protein food sources; they are more oriented toward those looking to raise or obtain their own food sources, either now or in a prolonged disaster situation. Of course, being self-sufficient like this is one of the best ways to enhance your disaster preparedness. The foods are listed in alphabetical order. The number listed next to each item is the grams of protein that 100 grams of that food contains. Bear in mind that raw foods often contain the most water, which essentially "dilutes" the protein contained. For example, raw moose meet contains 22 grams of protein, but it contains 29 grams after cooking, or 79 grams after drying. The protein is not really increasing, of course. Rather, as the water weight is removed, it takes more of the remaining protein to equal 100 grams."
