"I am taking a short break from my latest series on the real numbers behind our failing economy to address an issue within the Liberty Movement that I find a bit disturbing; namely the issue of inadequate strategic thinking and common sense amongst a certain new crop of survival writers, “gurus”, and their fans. I have only been a survival and prepping enthusiast for ten years, and I have been training in tactical methodologies for six years, but I think the near constant saturation of training I have received over that time makes me at least moderately qualified to discuss survival philosophies. During my work in the alternative media, I am also exposed to all of the undercurrents and trends within the movement, including many negative and destructive trends. The following article is only a summation of my personal observations. I am sure some people will disagree with my conclusions and claim that the exact opposite reality is true for them, and that's great. If they don't see the same problems around them that I see, then they are lucky. I can only relate my experiences based on my dealings with hundreds of thousands of liberty proponents on a monthly basis."
"Remember the movie "The Day After Tomorrow"? The 5 minute video below is a prelude for the article which follows. Is it possible that the global power structure is desperate enough and insane enough to attempt to slow or shutdown the thermohaline circulation? Could this be an effort to slow the rapid warming of our planet by attempting to reduce the catastrophic thawing of methane on the seabed of the Arctic (which is a risk to all life on Earth) by cutting off the flow of warm ocean currents to that region? It is impossible to know the answer to this question, but if a shutdown of the thermohaline occurs (whatever the cause or causes), it will come with yet more dire consequences to the climate. If the thermohaline does drastically slow or collapse, it will only make an already bad climate scenario far worse still."
"By now you’re probably aware of the importance of vitamin D. Ideally, it’s best to get it from the sun, because sunlight provides a number of other benefits as well, over and beyond vitamin D synthesis, that you simply cannot get from food or a supplement. Alexander Wunsch is a German physician of holistic medicine and photobiology. He’s also the CEO of Medical Light Consulting in Heidelberg, Germany. He believes, like I do, that the sun is a great healer. He believes that it’s the unity of biophysics and biochemistry that allows for life, and provides the human body with the essential ingredients for optimal health."
"Shock video shows a car exploding into flames after a Border Patrol agent shoots a taser into the vehicle, killing the driver as agents back away and refuse to help. Footage of the incident, which took place in March 2012, has just come to light. The family of the victim, Alex Martin, is suing the federal government, claiming that the Border Patrol agent’s weapon was responsible for igniting the fire. The clip shows agents approaching the vehicle before one of them smashes the passenger window with a flashlight. He then shoots a taser gun at the driver which immediately causes the car to erupt in flames. The agents are thrown back as a result of the blast before returning to their vehicles and quickly moving away from the scene."
"Wall Street can’t say it hasn’t been warned. The Office of Financial Research, the agency tasked with promoting financial stability and keeping an eye on markets released a paper last week, stating that the stock market is dangerously overpriced while excessive leverage will exacerbate the next market correction. The paper is aptly titled “Quicksilver Markets” alluding that when prices deflate it will happen swiftly and not without pain. “The timing of market shocks is difficult, if not impossible, to identify in advance, let alone quantify — a shock, by definition, is unexpected,” wrote Ted Berg, an analyst at OFR. But Berg identified several indicators that are pointing to a correction. Instead of looking at valuation in isolation, Berg and his team analyzed other factors, such as corporate profits and leverage, and found a disturbing picture."
"The blueprint for the globalist enslavement of America remains unchanged and we Americans are marching directly toward our final demise as a nation. With all the things we write about, and with all of the things that we call attention to, the methodology associated with the subjugation of the people of the United States, can be accurately summarized into a four part plan with the final goal of the destruction of the United States.
1 - An economic collapse is unleashed against the people of the United States.
2 - The ensuing chaos will lead to the pretext for the imposition of martial law.
3 - The martial law phase will result in the imposition of a New World Order which will wipe out all notions of private property and constitutional liberties.
4 - World War III will commence and this will culminate in the destruction of America.
"Everyone has weeds. Many have heard that you can use vinegar as an herbicide to get rid of them. Is it true you wonder? How do you use it? Yes, it is a fact that you can kill weeds with vinegar. That sounds great, doesn’t it! People hate to spend money for a product to get rid of weeds, and vinegar is cheap. Many people would like to avoid chemical sprays, and vinegar is all natural. Sounds like the best of both worlds. Except…there are a few exceptions, limitations, & details, that you should know about before you grab a bottle of vinegar off the shelf and seek revenge on those weeds."
"Last month, Chris Christie sold off New Jersey’s public water supply to a bunch of corporations. The Water Infrastructure Protection Act (WIPA), approved on February 5th, allows municipalities to sell their water facilities to private companies without public referendum. As part of Christie’s privatization task force agenda, WIPA aims to balance Jersey’s current budget crisis, while also fixing the state’s water facilities that ail from “emergent conditions,” or what the bill calls “serious risks to the integrity of drinking water and the environment.” The Protection Act has alarmed New Jersey communities and watchdog groups, however, who claim, as activist Jim Walsh has said, the bill allows “multinational corporations to profit off increased water rates with virtually no recourse for New Jersey residents.’’ Though flatly ignored by the national media, WIPA is a painfully important piece of legislation that comes at a pivotal juncture in the national and global conversation about how exactly we should “define” water. It also opens up bigger questions about private institutions and their role in shaping the public sphere — the first of which being, can we really trust corporations to do something that government has been doing for a hundred years?"
"Tech giant Apple is not coy about it. They want you to get used to real-time tracking. That’s why they are changing Find My Friends to Track My Friends. A patent granted to the company on Tuesday by the government describes a process that allows a user of a mobile device to view a visual representation of the movement of a person with another device."
" Dallas Republican State Representative Jason Villalba continues his Orwellian ways, after his bill to do away with conscientious and religious exemptions to vaccinate school children with HB 2006, he comes out with House Bill 985. This proposed bill gives teachers and other school officials the power to diagnose a student as having mental health issues and enacting a 30 day warning to the parents to seek psychological screenings within that time frame."
"Though the price of gold has seen a significant drop over the last two years from it’s all time highs of about $1900 per ounce, many experts and analysts believe that western central banks and their colleagues at major financial institutions have been manipulating the price. The rampant manipulation is believed to stem, in part, from the formerly Rothschild owned London Gold Fix, an organization made up of five large banks that make a daily determination of what the price of gold should be. It is this unilateral control by western banks that recently prompted the Chinese to create their own Shanghai Gold Exchange. What separates the two is that the Chinese will be using their currency, the Yuan, as the reserve rather than the U.S. Dollar. Moreover, unlike their European counterparts, the Chinese will be trading in actual physical dollars."
"In recent months, Facebook has been quietly holding talks with at least half a dozen media companies about hosting their content inside Facebook rather than making users tap a link to go to an external site. The new proposal by Facebook carries another risk for publishers: the loss of valuable consumer data. When readers click on an article, an array of tracking tools allow the host site to collect valuable information on who they are, how often they visit and what else they have done on the web. And if Facebook pushes beyond the experimental stage and makes content hosted on the site commonplace, those who do not participate in the program could lose substantial traffic — a factor that has played into the thinking of some publishers. Their articles might load more slowly than their competitors’, and over time readers might avoid those sites."
"When it comes to the nation’s power grid, there’s a lot at stake, and enemies know it because they’ve attacked electric utilities hundreds of times within the past several years. An investigation by USAToday and more than 10 of its community newspapers and television stations across the country found that between 2011 and 2014 alone, there were 362 reported physical and cyberattacks by electric utilities that resulted in partial power outages or disturbances."
"My friend and coworker at The Daily Sheeple Lily Dane was terrified tonight after police pulled her over for the high crime of expired tags and it turned into a bullying session that lasted over an hour and that apparently required four cop cars and SIX POLICE. I guess because we have this many officers and not a lot of actual, dangerous crime going on, they’ve got to justify their jobs somehow… This isn’t protecting and serving. It’s extortion."
"The news of JADE HELM 15 has caught the internet on fire. Now, coming out of the woodwork are the nay sayers, propagandists, and straight out liars. Yes, I am calling them exactly what they are, liars. Political Correctness stops here. The truth may hurt, but it is the truth. If you don't like that, then either go to a different site or change your behavior. There have been individuals from "trolls" to others that "claim" they are ex-Special Operations Command stating "this is not a real drill," Or that "the documents have been modified." These statements are not true, and are only being used in another "PSYOP" upon the American People. I will prove to you beyond the shadow of a doubt this operation is, in fact, true, and call these people out for what they are, liars! Anyone who tells you this is not a planned drill is lying to you either blatantly or by complete ignorance, neither of which is acceptable."
"Finance and economic expert Alasdair Macleod sees a fragile global economy with many ways to crash. Macleod starts in Europe with the euro currency, “We are looking at a currency which, at any moment, triggered by Greece or triggered by a butterfly in the jungle, could begin to unravel. I actually think the lack of any history behind the euro is probably the worst thing that it has. People can go off the euro incredibly quickly. . . . That is one area where it could happen. . . . Look what’s going on in Japan. They are printing money, and its hyperinflation. It is monetary hyperinflation which, at some stage, is going to be price hyperinflation. It’s only a matter of time. . . . I can’t find what’s good in the world. China is going to try to tackle a credit bubble. I have never known a government to tackle a credit bubble and succeed in managing it. . . . That is an accident waiting to happen. Coming back to America, last year, the Federal Reserve laid out how it was going to raise interest rates. That’s a complete joke. They can’t do it. We are all trapped, and it’s not going to take very much to change the valuations in the markets, and the effect on the gold price could happen at the same time, and it could be very, very dramatic.”
"The fight against the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement continues as a possible April vote nears. The United States and 11 other Latin American and Asian nations are working out the final details of the secret agreement that would affect around 40 percent of the global economy. Recently representatives of several Japanese non-profit digital rights groups presented a joint statement describing the threats the TPP represents to Japan’s culture. The organizations believe the extension of copyright terms will threaten the anime and fan-art communities. They cite a provision that allows authorities to act on alleged violations without a formal complaint. Critics of the trade deal also fear the loss of sovereignty by the individual nations and an increase in power for transnational corporate bodies."
"GOP lawmakers in Arizona are reacting to the recent media attention to police brutality cases by attempting to scale back transparency. Arizona Senate Bill 1445 would prohibit law enforcement agencies from releasing the names of officers “involved in a use of deadly physical force incident that results in death or serious physical injury" for 60 days after the confrontation. The bill has already been passed by Arizona’s House of Representatives, with only 13 votes against it, and is set to hit the Senate for a vote this week. If approved there, it would have to get signed off by Governor Doug Ducey, who has hacked away at state programs while earmarking millions of dollars for private prisons. If it becomes law, this legislation would obviously erode an oversight apparatus that already barely exists. In a piece from last year, titled “Why It’s Impossible to Indict a Cop,” Brooklyn attorney Chase Madar wrote that, “The reality is, it is extremely difficult to get law enforcement to police itself, and self-regulation is here, just as it is in poultry processing or coal mining, a sick joke.”
"Recently while reading James Wesley Rawles book “Patriots” I got to thinking… about a lot of things. The book details in very realistic fiction how fragile the U.S. economy is, and how quickly it could collapse. At that point our paper currency as we know it is absolutely useless, and people are resorting to any means possible to survive. The book is a great read and I recommend any open minded person who cares about their family and their future to read it. After assessing my self reliance skills, my family security plan, our bug out plan, and just about everything else that I could control without spending any money, I started to think about investing in ammunition. After a bit of research and some thinking, I realized that there are several reasons why well-prepared people should stockpile extra ammunition. Here are the reasons (or excuses) to continue to make ammunition part of your monthly budget."
"What’s A Seed Potato? The first time I ever heard someone talking about planting potatoes from seed, I wondered to myself, “Where are the seeds in potatoes? I’ve never seen seeds.” I was completely serious. I can laugh at myself now, knowing what I know, but for those who are starting out where I started out (completely naive), let me fill you in."
"Five gallon buckets that are commonly used for food storage can be used to organize and store other non food items. They are very convenient and portable, and they stack well if you get the same types. I find they are great storage containers for small spaces. In an emergency, hygiene and personal care still need to be maintained for health reasons as well as morale. Even if you never have an emergency, extra supplies means you never have to run to the store when it’s inconvenient – just use your stash and replace them the next time you go shopping. I have already made a health supplies bucket but this time I wanted to cover how to make the Personal Care bucket."
"Sometimes nothing goes as planned, you have fire wood to move, rocks to relocate, jugs of water to go to a raised bed. What to do? Well the tractor is out of gas, the wagon has flat tires. So we use the travois. When I first came out to Missouri and started reshaping the 5 Acre Bramble, I quickly got tired of carrying buckets and bundles, being rather old places some physical limitations on what I can do."
"Interstate 40 is the 3rd largest highway in the United States, running from Wilmington, North Carolina to Barstow California. Part of it used to be the old historic Route 66 that was popularized in the 1960s with a song and TV show. And I-40 runs right through my city where I work. I have lost count how many times I have been called to assist with motor vehicle accidents on that interstate. At least 4 that I can remember were fatality accidents. (ALWAYS wear your seatbelt.) But what sticks out to me the most is just how often I came across people who simply were not dressed appropriately for the weather conditions outside. So many times, when the outside temp was barely above freezing, (or colder) I’d pull up on an accident. Based upon the speeds traveled, the vehicles involved were usually damaged enough that they would not start. The people were not always hurt or not hurt very badly. But so many times the drivers and passengers did not have adequate clothing. I always asked them the same thing. “Where is your coat?” “I didn’t think I’d need one. I was only driving a few miles.” Or “it WAS warm inside my car” were the typical replies."
(Sgt Trainer: After spending several years in North Dakota, I can attest to the fact that ANYONE venturing out in their vehicle without having a seasonal survival bag is just begging for trouble!)
"The Outdoor Channel is taking on the myth that Gun-free zones help protect Americans in their powerful new documentary Safe Haven: Gun-Free Zones in America, debuting on Wednesday, April 1. The hour-long original documentary, which is hosted by Katie Pavlich – Town Hall news editor, FOX News contributor and New York Times best-selling author, will look into the history of Gun-free zones, their effectiveness, and how these areas are creating an environment for criminal activity to run rampant."
"Green beans are a great candidate for a first-time gardener and for someone new to canning. They grow well in lots of different gardening zones. They grow and produce rather quickly, and the more you pick them, the more they produce. They are easy to can and will provide your family with a green vegetable throughout the winter, making them a great choice for food storage. We love green beans in our house. It’s the only green vegetable my whole family likes, so we eat them about twice a week, with lots of bacon grease. You can find our favorite recipe here."
"The humble rifle sling is one of the most valued, yet strangely enough, under used part of a rifle. Anyone who has ever served their country or just hunted this great land knows the value of a rifle sling. It is used in the act of shooting, transporting your rifle from place to place and allows you to use both hands while keeping your rifle close or transitioning to a handgun. In the worst of times it has served as a tourniquet and saved lives. But most of the time I find it’s left behind until the time its needed most and not available. Wise hunters and shooters carry their slings with them for times like this."
