"Oregon's fourth-straight drought year is in full swing. In Sunday's paper, The Oregonian/Oregonlive took a hard look at what that means for Oregonians. Here's everything you need to know about how it will impact industry, ecosystems, and you."
(Sgt Trainer: None of this really started happening until Fukushima...and people are in denial about it!)
"If you were murdered today, there’s only a 60% chance of police catching the person who did it. That number drops to 3% if you’re raped. 50 years ago, that number was much higher. What happened? Despite overwhelming disapproval from the public, the war on drugs wages on and we are witnessing the inevitable materialization of a fascist police state before us. The irony here is that no matter how much money the state steals from us to fund themselves, and no matter how many tanks or AR-15s they acquire, they are solving far fewer crimes than before. Police aren’t getting any closer to “winning” this ridiculous and immoral war on drugs either."
"The Department of Justice informed House Republican leaders on Wednesday that it will not prosecute former IRS employee Lois Lerner for contempt of Congress, after she refused to testify about her role in the IRS targeting scandal."
"Why is there a sudden push by the FDA to label homeopathic remedies as dangerous? Why is there a need to regulate substances that have been used for hundreds of years with out any issues? What does the FDA have to gain? The FDA has published two documents recently, which suggest that WAR is being declared on the profession of homeopathic medicine – or at least on the manufacture of homeopathic remedies, which comes to the same thing in the end. What is a homeopath without homeopathic remedies? On March 19, 2015 the FDA published an advisory (called a "safety alert") about homeopathic asthma OTC medications, recommending that patients be wary, and that health care practitioners be sure to report any adverse effects to the FDA. Here is the link to that safety alert:"
"Herbal therapies are astoundingly popular among and their interest is growing as the dangers of pharmaceuticals become widely known and accepted. In 2008 statistician Patricia M. Barnes of the National Center for Health Statistics and her colleagues reported that almost 20 percent of children and adults in the U.S. had used an herbal medicine during the past year. That percentage according to some experts has doubled. A team led by physician David M. Eisenberg of Harvard Medical School determined that use of herbs for physical and mental problems including anxiety had risen 380 percent in seven years. The use of plants as treatments dates to at least 3000 b.c. although some theories propose humans have been using plants has medicine for as long as we’ve existed. Today this practice is part of a broader movement that has been fueled by the high ineffectiveness of prescription drugs, their side effects and the fact that these drugs do not work for everyone. Natural remedies come with little to no risk and if you find the right one for your condition, you can use it for life. That being said, always consult with a Naturopathic Doctor before initiating any herbal treatments for diagnosed conditions, especially if you are already taking medication."
"A person comes down with a terrible disease. The doctors give up all hope. Then, suddenly, the disease is gone. It’s a great soap opera plot, but it can actually happen in real life. The question is, how? What Is Spontaneous Remission? Spontaneous remission, also known as spontaneous healing, is downplayed by the medical community. This is not due to some evil conspiracy. It’s true that some doctors don’t believe in the phenomenon — at least not when it comes to certain diseases — but most just try to discourage people from clinging to false hope, and, more urgently, from clinging to false cures."
"A new study has shown that pharmaceutical drugs cause more overdoses and more deaths than all of the illegal drugs on the market combined. According to the government’s own statistics, listed on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website, deaths relating to pharmaceutical drugs rose to roughly 23,000 last year, which accounts for over half of the total overdose deaths in the country for that time period. Additionally, a recent study conducted by researchers with the University of Virginia, University of Arkansas, the Partnership for Drug Free Kids, and the American Institutes for Research reconfirmed the known dangers of pharmaceutical drug abuse."
"An economy is like an ecosystem. It is not the result of central planning; it evolves in ways the planners cannot even imagine. What central planner would have imagined Instagram, Snapchat or Uber? And what planner would have put an exotic pink bird in the middle of a moon-like landscape… with only a strange tiny bug for food? (See below for more on that.) Yesterday, US stocks came back strong. Investors bought the dip… as they always do these days. The Dow shot up 263 points, or 1.5%. Gold tumbled $6 to $1,179 an ounce. “Buying the dip” has been a very good investment approach for a very long time. It will continue to be a great way to invest, we predict, until it is a disaster. When that will be… we can’t say."
"The only pretext a SWAT team needs to temporarily seize your property is to use it as an observation post in an emergency situation, a federal judge in Nevada has ruled."
"It made the formal offer to the UN as a step towards a global deal in Paris in December. The EU has already promised to cut its emissions by a roughly similar proportion. Tuesday was the deadline for wealthy nations to make their offers – but some, such as Canada, have failed to submit in time. The announcement was made on Twitter with the words: "America is taking steps to #ActOnClimate, and the world is joining us" - accompanied by a picture of the President in China."
"A little-noted provision of President Obama’s highway funding proposal would lift the federal prohibition against states imposing new tolls on existing interstate highways. The GROW AMERICA Act would eliminate restrictions held in place since the creation of the Federal Interstate System, according to a summary of the plan’s provisions, allowing states that receive permission from the Secretary of Transportation to toll existing Interstate highways “in order to make improvements or to manage congestion.”
"Circumstances are at such a point that one no longer needs a justifiable reason for being long PHYSICAL gold and/or silver. Does it matter that the 50 day moving average is going to cross the 200 day moving average, now being bandied about as though there were a degree of magic associated with the event? Does it matter any more that China remains a record buyer of physical gold for over a year? Did it ever matter that coin sales to the public have been setting records for well over a year? Those who already own gold and silver will be protected, to a larger degree than otherwise, against the certain-to-come devaluation[s]. We have been advocating the buy and hold strategy for over a year, specifically for physical gold and silver and personally holding the PMs, as well. One of the provisions of the Patriot Act, forced through at the direction of the elites to gain further control over unaware citizens, allows the government to raid anyone’s safe deposit box that may hold either gold or silver. Still trust the banks?
Some own gold and silver from much higher prices. That is okay and not a cause for concern! When the fiat Ponzi scheme fails, the unnaturally suppressed prices for both PMs will make $50 silver and $1800 gold look like an incredible bargain. The takeaway from all of this is the more than ever pressing need to keep on buying as much gold and silver as one can afford. Forget price. Ownership is all that matters."
(Sgt Trainer: I have been telling folks for several years that they need to hold on to any physical precious metals they have regardless of what the market does! If you do not have any, I strongly encourage you to get it now!)
(Sgt Trainer: The majority of police departments have, FOR YEARS, been telling folks to find a safe place if they are in doubt of the "authenticity" of a police vehicle. Apparently, it only means to do so IF it does not piss off a cop!)
"It’s been an increasingly embarrassing year for the embattled Veteran’s Affairs Department, which has been accused of cover-ups and hidden wait lists on top of mismanaging expensive construction projects at the taxpayers’ expense. And it’s only getting worse."
"An analysis of the recently released 2014 U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) National Bridge Inventory database finds good news and bad news when it comes to the most heavily traveled U.S. bridges. The good news is that there are over 2,000 fewer structurally deficient structures than there were in 2013. The bad news is that it means more than 61,000 structurally deficient bridges are still in need of significant repair. Cars, trucks, and school buses cross the nation’s 61,064 structurally compromised bridges 215 million times every day."
"If Big Brother has its way, DUI checkpoints and DUI police stops will be a thing of the past. Your car won’t start if you’ve had a drink!"
(Sgt Trainer: There are two things to keep in mind with this. First, you are easier to control if you are walking. Second, this will reduce revenue generation by police departments so be prepared to get stopped even more for REALLY insignificant "violations" in order to make up for this loss.)
"To facilitate the often treacherous process of entering the United States illegally through the southern border, the Obama administration is offering free transportation from three Central American countries and a special refugee/parole program with “resettlement assistance” and permanent residency. Under the new initiative the administration has rebranded the official name it originally assigned to the droves of illegal immigrant minors who continue sneaking into the U.S. They’re no longer known as Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), a term that evidently was offensive and not politically correct enough for the powerful open borders movement. The new arrivals will be officially known as Central American Minors (CAM) and they will be eligible for a special refugee/parole that offers a free one-way flight to the U.S. from El Salvador, Guatemala or Honduras. The project is a joint venture between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the State Department."
"Today one of the top money managers in the world warned King World News about earth-shaking events that are taking place in the East. He also discussed the centerpiece of China's plans for world domination that will shock people in the West. Stephen Leeb: “Eric, as you know, for quite some time I have focused on East vs West and the East is really kicking our rears right now. The latest thing everyone is talking about is what China is doing with its infrastructure bank (AIIB). But even more significant than that, in my memory and I’m not a young guy, I’ve never hard of Great Britain thumbing their nose at the United States…."
"Gov. Jerry Brown issued mandatory water restrictions for the first time in California history. Brown's executive order will require the state water board to implement reductions in cities and towns to cut water use by 25 percent. "We're in a historic drought and that demands unprecedented action," Brown said at a news conference in the Sierra Nevada, where dry, brown grass surrounded a site that normally would be snow-covered at this time of year. "We have to pull together and save water in every way we can." The order will increase enforcement to make sure people follow water rules. It also pushes to replace lawns with drought-tolerant landscaping and creates a rebate program to reward people for purchasing energy-efficient appliances. Also, the order will require school campuses, golf courses, cemeteries and other large landscapes to significantly cut water use and ban watering of grass on public street medians."
"Last week, Reps. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), introduced bipartisan legislation, H.R. 1466, to completely repeal the PATRIOT act. The bill would reform the National Security Agency (NSA), and dramatically revamp America’s overall espionage apparatus and posture. Aptly named the Surveillance State Repeal Act, the bill, if enacted, would be the single biggest legislative check against the unwarranted government overreach and draconian surveillance of Americans that has transpired subsequent the events of 9/11, while at the same time restoring our civil liberties. The bill would also give whistleblowers like Edward Snowden, who exposed the National Security Agency’s mass surveillance in 2013, additional protections under the law."
"Pallets are used in a variety of ways such as decorating, burning, transporting groceries, and even gardening. However, it’s very important to check to see if there are any parasites living in those pallets before you put them in your home and garden. These bugs can be very invasive and really ruin your good times with infestation. So before you start setting up your pallets in your home or in your garden, make sure you remember these safety tips on how to check to see if the pallets are safe."
(Sgt Trainer: If there is no indication of any kind on a pallet, be safe and discard it.)
"Ignorance of the law, we are often told, is no excuse. "Every man is presumed to know the law," says a long-established legal aphorism. And if you are charged with a crime, you would be well advised to rely on some other defense than "I had no idea that was illegal." But not everybody favors this state of affairs. While a century or two ago nearly all crime was traditional common-law crime — rape, murder, theft and other things that pretty much everyone should know are bad — nowadays we face all sorts of "regulatory crimes" in which intuitions of right and wrong play no role, but for which the penalties are high."
"Since the news first broke of the military training exercises titled "Jade Helm 15" on March 13, 2015, the military has pushed back, the Internet has exploded with news of what many see as martial law preparedness on US soil, and finally the mainstream media started reporting on it, albeit the "official spin," with videos of the exercises going viral, and unsatisfactory explanations over the "unconventional warfare" language in the leaked documents to which one former Lt. Col of the Army called "unprecedented and dangerous." Now we see that former Georgia Congressional 4th District candidate Greg Pallen posted on Facebook on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, "From a reliable, well-connected inside source, we have word that the militias are on high-alert.....YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER YOUR OWN PERSONAL PREPAREDNESS....PLEASE WATCH AND SHARE THIS VIDEO WHILE YOU CAN- THIS IS BECOMING VERY REAL..... VERY QUICKLY....." The video he refers to was published by YouTube videographer Jason A on March 29, 2015 and will be shown below the article."
"Georgia’s implied consent law may not be around much longer. On Friday, a unanimous state Supreme Court laid the groundwork for a future ruling that could effectively nullify the statute that imposes automatic punishment on motorists who refuse to provide a blood sample or breath test upon demand. The implied consent law helps police investigate drunk driving (DUI) cases by allowing what are considered searches under the Fourth Amendment to take place without a search warrant."
"For ages, those who were too poverty-stricken to pay judgments and other outstanding debts were locked up, and forced to work it off under prison labor, along with the cost of incarceration. But it fell out of fashion, and became an unlawful and unconstitutional form of punishment in the U.S. back in the 1830s, as well as in most other countries. The 14th Amendment strengthened equal protection under law, that is until recent decades. With new found economic pressures and plenty of new fines and offenses, debtors’ prisons are back. And it is a harsh reality for thousands of struggling Americans. Many more could join them if they aren’t careful."
"Every year, hundreds of U.S. parents are tried and convicted in criminal court for supposedly killing their babies by shaking them. But the nebulous condition known as “shaken baby syndrome,” or SBS, appears to be a grand misnomer contrived for the sole purpose of covering up the real causes of SBS death, which include vaccine damage. The presupposition is that if a deceased child exhibits things like bleeding at the back of the eye, bleeding from the protective area around the brain or brain swelling, then he must have been vigorously shaken by someone prior to his death. But this may or may not actually be the case, especially with new research suggesting that most humans aren’t capable of shaking an infant hard enough to produce the symptoms commonly associated with SBS. The Washington Post (WP) recently indicted this faulty diagnosis, pointing out that up to two-thirds of the SBS cases prosecuted each year show no outward signs of physical injury. This means that something else besides physical abuse is responsible for most cases of SBS falsely attributed to external maltreatment by a parent or guardian."
