The Devil Is Always In the Details When It Comes To Prepping
"It is easy for anyone to see the big picture, to make big plans, and to have big ideas.  It is easy and simpler in some cases, to believe you have the bases all covered because of your plans and ideas.  A grain of sand can ruin the most sophisticated piece of equipment however.  The little things can catch you off guard and put you in a life or death situation.  Some of you are already scoffing at the notion.  Some people like to believe that they have all the bases covered, because to think otherwise would mean they would have to do something about it.  People tend to put things off until they see a need, and in some cases, it may be too late when the need arises.   Attention to detail is important.  The following may not apply to you and that is okay, but it may get you to thinking about other small details that do apply to you."

Comparing the inflated cost of living today from 1938 to 2015:   US Dollar losing an enormous amount of purchasing power since 1938
"People have a hard time understanding how inflation erodes their purchasing power.  Little by little the cost of everything goes up and people simply assume this is normal in an economy.  The $2 movie ticket becomes a $8 movie ticket.  That can of tuna just got smaller but the price remains the same.  The cost of going to college went from manageable to needing large student debt merely to complete a four year degree.  Inflation is argued to be a purely monetary outcome.  You have too much money, in the form of cash or credit in today’s case, chasing fewer goods.  In our current economy, debt is the fuel accelerating inflation.  You can see this in items like housing, cars, and college where debt is the primary fuel driving prices higher.  The big problem today is that incomes are simply not rising fast enough to keep up with the rise in other expenses.  Over time, inflation has a big destructive power.  I thought it would be useful to look at the cost of typical items in 1938 and compare them to where things stand in 2015."

NYSE Invokes Rule 48 To Pre-Empt Selling Panic
"The status quo must be maintained...
  • *NYSE SAYS RULE 48 INVOKED FOR MARKET OPEN
  • *NYSE SAYS MANDATORY OPENING INDICATIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED
And what better excuse to stall the opening plunge implied by futures than the "blizzard" which never was...  The last time this was invoked was June 2012 (amid a dramatic drop in pre-open futures) and Sept 2011 amid the chaotic 400-point swings in The Dow.  Funny they do not use this "Rule" when futures indicate massive upside opens?"

Drug Enforcement Administration secretly spying on millions of cars:  report
"The Justice Department has been secretly gathering and storing hundreds of millions of records about motorists in an effort to build a national database that tracks the movement of vehicles across the country, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.  The newspaper said the main aim of the license plate tracking program run by the Drug Enforcement Administration was to seize automobiles, money and other assets to fight drug trafficking, according to one government document.  But the use of the database had expanded to include hunting for vehicles linked to other possible crimes, including kidnapping, killings and rape suspects, the paper said, citing current and former officials and government documents.  While U.S. officials have said they track vehicles near the Mexican border to combat drug cartels, it had not been previously revealed the DEA had been working to expand the database “throughout the United States,” the Journal said, citing an email.  It said many state and local law enforcement agencies were using the database for a variety of investigations, the paper said.  It added it was unclear if any court oversaw or approved the program."

Virginia Senate cans 12 bills from Gov. McAuliffe’s gun control agenda
"A Virginia Senate committee on Monday rejected a full dozen anti-gun measures on background checks, gun rationing and confiscations while approving bills to advance lifetime carry licenses and return of stolen guns by police.  The move by the Republican-dominated Virginia Senate Courts of Justice Committee came just six weeks after Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe called for a host of gun control measures as part of his new public safety initiative debuted on the first working day following the second anniversary of the 2012 Newtown school shooting."

Bill Would Ban Police From Receiving Military Weapons and Vehicles
"The militarized police response to Ferguson protests sparked a national debate about surplus military equipment being given to local law enforcement agencies.  Now, Tennessee State Sen. Brian Kelsey, R-Germantown, has filed legislation that would prohibit both state and local agencies from receiving, owning or using “certain military vehicles, aircraft and weaponry.”  The law, if passed, would effect existing inventories of military surplus gear which would have to be sold or disposed of by law enforcement agencies in possession of them.  Representative Kelsey said there needs to be a “clear separation between the military and police.”  In an interview with the Johnson City Press, he explained that “we can support both our police officers and our citizens by ensuring that our police officers are not viewed as the enemy.”  Some exemptions would exist under this proposal, including the ever-popular M16 and AR15 rifles, which nearly every police force in the nation is now equipped with."

DHS to Launch Iris and Facial Recognition at the Border
"The Department of Homeland Security this summer plans to roll out iris and facial recognition services to the U.S. Border Patrol, according to DHS officials.  The service will be able to share images with the FBI's massive multibiometric system, officials said.  The test is part of a coming overhaul of the department's "IDENT" biometric system, which currently contains more than 170 million foreigner fingerprints and facial images, as well as 600,000 iris templates.  DHS last November released two sets of system specifications as part of market research for the new project.  "It’s the Border Patrol stations that are doing the actual collections" of iris and face images from individuals processed through Customs and Border Patrol stations, Ken Fritzsche, director of the identity technology division at the DHS Office of Biometric Identity Management, told Nextgov.  He spoke Tuesday at the 2015 Biometrics for Government and Law Enforcement conference.  "They’ve been collecting irises and storing the data with us," Fritzsche said.  "Now, we’re going to provide matching capability in a limited production pilot to CBP."

Gerald Celente – Closing Of New York City A Dress Rehearsal For Total Control Of People’s Lives
"Today the top trends forecaster in the world stunned King World News when he said that the closing down of New York City was just a dress rehearsal for total control of people's lives.   He also warned that Gestapo-style tactics were even being used to arrest people who were not submitting."

Clear out congestion with these herbal remedies
"When confronted with specific allergens or cold and flu viruses, the body may produce excess histamine and mucus.  This inflammation can cause congestion in the sinuses, backing up the cavities with phlegm which causes pressure in the head.  The excess phlegm can even trigger a bronchial spasm, producing a cough and subsequent irritation. In any case, it’s important not to suppress these bodily responses. Instead, one should work with these responses, enhancing their healing nature.  By using demulcent and expectorant herbs, one can increase the effectiveness of these bodily responses, using mucus as an advantage while clearing out congestion."

Red Light Camera Studies
"The preponderance of independent research (in other words, research that was not funded by ticket camera vendors or units of government interested in justifying camera-based traffic enforcement) has illustrated that ticket cameras typically increase, not decrease, the number of accidents at controlled intersections."

Charge:  Police “Steal” $100,000-worth of Legal Guns and Ammo From Citizen
"Imagine you get into a loud argument in your home with an adult son.  Though it’s resolved peacefully, the police had been called.  They then confiscate your legal firearms and ammunition — valued at $100,000.  Even though you’ve been convicted of nothing.  Even though you weren’t even charged.  And here’s the kicker:  The police say they’re going to keep your property."

Urban Disasters:  Have These 20 Items On You If You Want to Make It Home
"From previous disasters, we find clarification and better ways to prepare.  Urban disasters happen all the time leaving many stranded in the city.  Consider for a moment what you would do if you found yourself in the midst of an emergency where you couldn’t get home using your vehicle.  For example, after the terror attacks in New York, the country’s transportation system was shut down – including city transportation systems.  Due to the destruction of this event, many commuters were left with no other option but to walk home.  Another example occurred in Tokyo after a number of sizable earthquake tremors occurred, many commuters and students were stranded after railways were temporarily stopped.  As a result, the majority of commuters who are unable to return home had to wait in facilities such as offices and stations until railway services resumed.  Severe weather and car breakdowns can also be a reason for having to walk home.  Between work and commutes, most of us spend a majority of our time away from home.  About 8% of workers in the USA have commutes of an hour or longer, and nearly 600,000 full-time workers endure “megacommutes” of at least an hour-and-a-half and 50 miles, according to new U.S. Census data on commuting.  The national average, one-way daily commute is 25.5 minutes."

History Test – I’m Older Than Dirt
"NO Cheating – don’t look at the answers until you take the test!!!!  Everyone over 40 should have a pretty easy time at this exam.  If you are under 40 you can claim a handicap.  This is a History Exam for those who don’t mind seeing how much they really remember about what went on in their life.  Get paper & pencil & number from 1 to 20.  Write the letter of each answer & score at the end."

This Is What a Real-Life Economic Collapse Looks Like
"Did you ever think about what your life would be like if the stores were closed?  I’m not talking about a post-apocalyptic Mad Max scenario or a winter storm that clears the shelves.  I’m talking about a long-term disruption of services caused by an economic collapse.  What if you couldn’t run to Wal-Mart to get soap?  What if the grocery store had supplies so limited that they were rationed out to people in such small amounts that the food you got was not enough to meet your needs?  What if there were no diapers for your baby or aspirin to cure a headache?  This is exactly what happens in a serious economic collapse.  It happened a couple of years ago in Greece, and it’s happening right now in Venezuela.  Bloomberg.com reports a scene of desperation:"

1 in 3 on Disability Have Mental Disorder; 42.9% in D.C.
"One in three, or 35.2 percent, of people getting federal disability insurance benefits have been diagnosed with a mental disorder, according to the latest data from the Social Security Administration (SSA).  Washington, D.C., the seat of the federal government, ranked in the top-ten list of states where disabled beneficiaries were diagnosed with mental problems.  In 2013, the latest data from SSA show there were 10,228,364 disabled beneficiaries, up 139,625 from 2012 when there were 10,088,739 disabled beneficiaries.  Disabled beneficiaries have increased 49.7 percent from a decade ago in 2003 when there were 6,830,714 beneficiaries; and the number is up 14.3 percent from the 8,945,376 beneficiaries in 2009, the year President Obama took office."

California DMV Ordered to Overlook Identity Theft by Illegals
"Illegal aliens may enjoy a free pass on identity theft due to a new investigative policy at California’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).  The policy, issued last year and effective as of Jan. 1, 2015, directs DMV investigators to overlook identity theft by applicants “who may have attempted to obtain or been issued a license or ID card previously through submission of false information.”  A DMV source who asked to remain anonymous provided Breitbart News exclusively with a copy of the newly-enacted internal policy memorandum.  The document informs DMV investigative officers that past identity theft is acceptable when the illegally-acquired IDs were only used to obtain a driver license, and where the license or ID was not used to commit any other crime.  It is unclear how investigators are meant to determine whether a falsely obtained driver license or ID was used solely for driving, or also to commit other crimes, such as using a fraudulently-obtained driver license to open a bank account, to apply for a loan, or even to purchase alcohol."

Man Builds 2 Earth Dome Cabins for Less than $10,000
"Are you interested in exploring alternative means of sustainable living, but don’t think it can be done?  Though not as common as it should be, many individuals choose to live off-the-grid and rely on themselves by collecting rainwater, planting gardens, using alternative energy, and more.  People are even building their own little ‘Earth dome’ houses.  Want to see what I’m talking about?  Check out these pictures and video below.   Evolving from historic military bunker construction techniques, Earthbag building is a relatively inexpensive method of construction that uses limited resources at a low cost.  The technique uses natural materials (usually local), such as sturdy stacks filled with inorganic material.  Subsoil that contains enough clay to become cohesive when tamped, gravel, sand, or volcanic rock are common materials used for Earthbag building."

Pleasure vs. Pain in the Programmed Society
"Brain researchers believe they have the future of the world in their hands.  For example, they assume that one day, they will be able to turn on or turn off circuits that induce pleasure and pain in humans.  Easily, reliably, precisely.  If humans seek to find pleasure and avoid pain, or if they pursue goals that deliver pleasure as a side effect…why wait?  Why go through the process of striving at all? Why not cut to the bottom line immediately and experience pleasure?  In an age where instant reward, entitlement, flickering attention, and entertainment are paramount, why not stimulate the brain and give people what they want?  Work is the middle-man.  Eliminate it.  The interval between desire and fulfillment is long.  Erase it."

Global Warming Mounting Weird Comeback in 2015 — Agenda 21 Looming
"Get ready for another global warming hoax campaign in 2015 designed to convince people that CO2 is the cause of global warming and that humanity is in trouble unless we do something to control human behavior.  When the money starts getting thrown around again and they start planning the concerts to make people feel good, remember they are mind hunting for believers again.  Just like a religious ceremony, the new 2015 global warming hoax events will call on believers to lay down their sins of “denial” and come to the Lord Al Gore who was ahead of humanity decades ago when he figured all this out.  Gore was not stopped by the fact that CO2 is a natural, necessary gas that makes life possible on earth.  Not a chance.   Gore postulated that CO2 was a “pollutant” and he convinced himself and the “scientific community” that somehow he was right.  His personal agenda that has made him millions $$, all incidental, was not intended to impede his message.  Followers of the global warming religion and new converts alike were asked to ignore Al Gore himself and to ignore all historic temperature data and just focus on the “sea level” theory.  They were asked to shut off all forms of reason and logic and follow, and that they did."

Save a life or sneer at an idiot - your choice
"Interesting experience at the shooting range this afternoon ...  The range is packed.  Everyone got new guns for X-mas and wants to shoot them.  There was about an hour wait for a stall.  I sit down and start reading as I wait my turn.  In a few minutes, a young girl sits down to wait in the chair next to mine.  She's by herself and appears to be in her early 20s.  She's the only black person in the room and one of the only women.  She seems nervous as she fiddles with the gun case in her lap.  She's obviously uncomfortable.  Uncomfortable people with guns in their hands shooting in the stall next to me isn't what I like to see.  I decide to talk to her.  Keep in mind that no one at this range knows me or knows what I do for a living.  That's why I like shooting there; I have complete anonymity and can focus on my own training rather than teaching others.   I rarely talk to anyone, but something told me that I needed to talk to this girl."
(Sgt Trainer:  This has happened to me on more than one occasion.  At first I was surprised that a lot of people really don't have a clue about using a firearm, especially for self-defense.  The last one I experienced was the fiance of my former brother-in-law and she had never fired a gun.  She had signed up for her CCW and wanted to learn before the class.  My former BIL wanted to start her off on a .40 caliber, but I started her on a .22 to learn on.  Bottom line:  She "aced" the CCW class.  We have to learn to share our knowledge with those folks who are anxious to learn.  Read the story if you haven't yet.  It's apparent that this happened before this past Christmas but I just came across it.  I remember a Tom Clancy novel I read once and there was a sentence in it that has always stuck with me.  "Even special forces trained troops can be awed by an unknown environment or situation.")

Prepping for Unemployment
"When the question of "What do you prep for?" is posed to me, one of my top responses is always "Unemployment".  I work in construction, so layoffs and work slowdowns are a very real part of my life.  This was driven home last week, when I found myself suddenly unemployed.  So, how exactly does a person or family prep for a job loss or layoff?  Most of this is just basic financial strategy, but sadly many folks, especially younger folks, aren't taught this except at the school of hard knocks.  If you can learn these lessons and put them in place when times are good, they'll already be working for you when things get bad."

Store Eggs Long-Term Without Refrigeration!
"Believe it or not you can store eggs, unrefrigerated, for 6 months or longer, and cheese for years when done properly.  And there’s good news for those of you who have been looking for a solution for yeast’s relatively short shelf life…there is an easy work-around.  It all hinges on our forefathers wisdom that has been lost by most of us for one simple reason.  We’ve always had the refrigerator!  And we’ve learned to rely on the experts who tell us we’re all goanna die if we ever stray from keeping our food outside a refrigerator.  The good news is we don’t have far to go far to debunk most of what we are told with regards to living without traditional refrigeration and it goes back to our forefathers.  They did quite nicely, even though they had to make it from one growing season to the next without a refrigerator, keeping staples like eggs for months, cheese for years, and they had to have a dependable way to bake bread."
(Sgt Trainer:  Make sure you read the whole thing!)

Prepping Improved My Life
"Non-preppers don’t get it.  They think we’re wasting our time and our money.  They think we live in constant fear of calamity.  They think nothing will ever come of it and all of our preparations will be for nothing.  I respectfully disagree, but for more reasons than might be apparent.  Whether TEOTWAWKI occurs during my lifetime or not, prepping has improved my life in numerous significant ways.  Here are a few that come to mind:"

Be a Lean, Mean Survival Mom Machine
"Picture this.  You’re with your kids or grand-kids in a COSTCO or Wal-Mart, when you hear gunshots and screams coming from across the store.  From the terrifying sounds you know you only have a few seconds to get to safety, and an EXIT door is about thirty yards away.  Do you have the physical conditioning, stamina, otherwise known as survival fitness, to grab the kids, pick them up if necessary, and run fast enough to escape with your lives?  Or, would those extra pounds and flabby muscles slow you down to make a quick escape impossible?  Are you a lean, mean Survival Mom machine?  I’m the first to admit that a quick sprint across the store would be pretty difficult for me.  I could do it, but it sure wouldn’t be impressive in terms of speed or style.  I’ve missed way too many work-outs at the gym and have enjoyed far too many meals at the drive-through lately.  I’m typical of millions of Americans, yet as someone who has preparedness as a top goal, I know that someday my survival may depend on being physically fit.  The necessity of getting shape and building up my physical strength has been a big pill for me to swallow.  I can’t tell you how much I hate exercising and every minute on the treadmill is torment.  Even so, I’ve been working on improving my physical fitness.  I’m not a runner, far from it, but I’ve been making a point of walking or bicyling as many days of the week as I can and doing a series of strength-building calisthenics (floor exercises)."

When the SHTF, You Can Come to My Place…Seriously
"How often have you been talking with friends and they joke that if the SHTF, they are coming to your place?  Most of us quietly are saying in our heads, “you are out of your damn mind if you think you are coming to my place.”  In fact, for those that spend zero time preparing, training, or putting even the smallest amount of effort into their own survival insurance, I would agree, I have no sympathy.  However, the mere fact you are reading this right now tells me you have taken a step in the right direction and are in fact interested in insuring the continued existence of yourself and your family.  You are actively trying to take positive steps.  For those of you out there, I would suggest established preppers consider opening their door and taking you in under the right conditions.  Unlike the billionaires creating much of the havoc in our world, very few of us will ever have the funds to buy our own private island or renovated missile silo protected by a first rate mercenary army so it is best we start working together.  In today’s article, I will deviate from what I consider dated prepper logic and argue why inviting others to your bug out location is in all of our interests."

Its Time To Hold SWATTERS, & Those That Egg Them on Accountable
"SWATTING: Swatting is the act of tricking an emergency service (via such means as hoaxing a 9-1-1 dispatcher) into dispatching an emergency response based on the false report of an ongoing critical incident.  The “swatting” of gun owners and carry permit holders is a deliberate tactic that has been egged on and encouraged by numerous followers of the various extreme Gun Control Groups like Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) , Everytown for Gun Control and Moms Demand Action.  There are 100’s, if not 1000’s of readily available screen captures from the various groups Facebook pages and Twitter accounts of their supporters openly advocating this behavior and encouraging others to do the same.  Given the documented propensity for Anti Gun zealots to encourage and cheer each other on in using such tactics, it is long past time that the Groups (for providing a forum for such discussions) as well as the posters themselves be investigated and charged with conspiracy, accessories and whatever other criminal charges may apply when things like the murder of John Crawford III and the violent and unprovoked attack of Clarence Daniels takes place.  Failing to hold these people accountable for their false reports and efforts to use the Police as an instrument of revenge against those they do not agree with or like can only encourage more and more “swatting” in the future.  Shannon Watts herself, Chief Prostitute of Propaganda for Moms Demand Action is actually upset at the fact that Michael Foster was arrested for his illegal ambush attack.
How many more innocent people must be falsely detained arrested, attacked, injured or killed for exercising their rights before those that engage in such despicable tactics are held accountable for their crimes?"
