"Precedents exist for requiring citizens to produce special ID for domestic travel; they include Nazi Germany, apartheid South Africa and Russia (both Imperial and Soviet). Over the Christmas season, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) quietly announced that America was walking down that path. By 2016, all domestic air travel will require either a traditional passport or a federally-compliant ID card called "Real ID." State driver's licenses will no longer allow Americans access to domestic flights, as they do now. Real ID will constitute an internal passport. (The drop-date date is commonly reported as January.) An internal passport refers to an identity document that people must produce to move from place to place within national borders. It allows a government to monitor the movement of its own people and to control that movement by granting or denying ID. In the past, governments have used internal passports to isolate 'undesirables', to regulate economic opportunities, to reap personal data, to intimidate and command obedience, and to segregate categories of people (like Jews) for political purposes. It allows a government to bind anyone it chooses to his or her place of birth. The upcoming Real ID requirement targets only air travel. But that's how it begins - with airports."
(Sgt Trainer: The following italicized comment comes from Michael Rivero of www.whatreallyhappened.com in commenting on this article: "The courts have repeatedly ruled that travel is a Constitutional right that may not be infringed on. U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens in Saenz v. Roe, 526 U.S. 489 (1999) held that the United States Constitution protected three separate aspects of the right to travel among the states: the right to enter one state and leave another, the right to be treated as a welcome visitor rather than a hostile stranger (protected by the "privileges and immunities" clause in Article IV, § 2). Having to have an internal passport is being treated as a hostile stranger. Read more: whatreallyhappened.com http://whatreallyhappened.com/#ixzz3ROOBYYNH)
"Protocol violations — where researchers didn’t follow their stated methodology — were most common, occurring in three-quarters of the trials, according to today’s report in JAMA Internal Medicine. And many patients weren’t properly informed before they consented to be studied, or the trials they were in lacked oversight in more than half of the research. Two-thirds of the trials had inadequate or wrong record-keeping. Also common: falsification or the submission of false information, which occurred in 39 percent of trials. In a quarter of the trials, there were problems with reporting adverse events — that is, serious side health concerns that may arise in either the test or control groups. The misconduct itself isn’t so surprising, writes study author Charles Seife, who is also a journalism professor at New York University. Here’s what he says is surprising, though: When the FDA finds scientific fraud or misconduct, the agency doesn’t notify the public, the medical establishment, or even the scientific community that the results of a medical experiment are not to be trusted. On the contrary. For more than a decade, the FDA has shown a pattern of burying the details of misconduct. As a result, nobody ever finds out which data is bogus, which experiments are tainted, and which drugs might be on the market under false pretenses. The FDA has repeatedly hidden evidence of scientific fraud not just from the public, but also from its most trusted scientific advisers, even as they were deciding whether or not a new drug should be allowed on the market. Even a congressional panel investigating a case of fraud regarding a dangerous drug couldn’t get forthright answers. For an agency devoted to protecting the public from bogus medical science, the FDA seems to be spending an awful lot of effort protecting the perpetrators of bogus science from the public."
"By now, you’ve read or seen videos about fluoridation dangers that do exist. Authoritative statements claim that it’s natural and safe. However, only calcium fluoride from some wells or aquifers is natural, yet not totally safe. But the fluoride that’s added into drinking water is very unsafe. Those small daily doses do accumulate in both bone and soft tissue to create health havoc. In either case, protection against tooth decay is questionable. If that’s what folks want, fluoride should be sold separately and not forced onto whole communities’ drinking and crop irrigation water. By the way, ever notice the poison warning on fluoridated toothpastes? Around 70 percent of community water supplies throughout this nation are fluoridated. Most other nations have banned it or otherwise do not fluoridate. Fluorides are also used in about a third of pharmaceutical drugs, such as fluoroquinolone antibiotics and some psychotropic pharmaceuticals. Both can deliver horrific side effects. The most common form that is put into water supplies as a profitable way of complying with EPA toxic waste removal is hydrofluorosilicic acid, which is also used as rat poison. There are others as well, but this article will simply feature sodium fluoride to distinguish the more toxic waste byproduct version from other added fluoride chemicals."
"Commodity shipping costs matched a record low set 28 years ago as China’s slowing demand for coal and weaker bookings before the Asian country’s New Year holidays compounded a fleet glut. The Baltic Dry Index slid 0.9 percent to 554 points, the same level it fell to in July and August of 1986, according to data on Monday from the Baltic Exchange in London. Day rates declined for most ship types monitored."
(Sgt Trainer: This index continues to fall, indicating a highly sluggish economy.)
"New Jersey schools would be required to teach students how they should interact with police officers under proposed legislation a sponsor says could protect both kids and cops. The bill, (A4130), introduced last week, would require school districts to come up with instructions for students as part of their Social Studies Core Curriculum Content Standards that would include “the role and responsibilities of a law enforcement official in providing for public safety” and “an individual’s responsibilities to comply with a directive from a law enforcement official.” One of the sponsors, state Assemblyman Ralph Caputo (D-Essex), said the bill was inspired partly by recent incidents of police shootings around the country, including the death of Michael Brown in Ferugson, Mo."
"Our era is a strange one when considering how social attitudes have developed in such a contrary fashion to the rest of history. I think that our forefathers would look upon our current culture with bewilderment when confronted with the fact that our generation has all but abandoned the option of physical rebellion as a tool for social change. Even among the most enslaved of nations and peoples, the idea of revolution has been held in regard as an entirely moral and principled affair involving every individual, no matter their age or economic station. Today, however, that which we call “revolution” has been delegated mostly to college-age intellectuals and has been so watered down and whitewashed with politically correct restrictions that the concept is hardly recognizable."
"You have spent countless hours and dollars prepping. You have escape plans and multiple evacuation routes mapped out. You have plenty of food, water and other essentials. You are sure you have all the bases covered, but do you really. When your plan first makes contact with reality is when things start to unravel. You have the material things, such as food, water and shelter. You have backup plans and everyone knows what to do when the lights go out or knows what to do if they become lost or stranded in the wild. You and the family have spent hours in the backyard honing your survival skills, skills that can be used in an urban as well as a wilderness environment. The build up to an event is a busy time almost exciting in some cases. You are proving your worth. You are confident and you feel good about things, because you are doing something. You are developing useful skills that can help you survive in any situation. You recognized the warning signs, and you are doing something about it, you heed the warnings and you are preparing."
"As the names implies, situational awareness is simply knowing what’s going on around you. It sounds easy in principle, but in reality requires much practice. And while it is taught to soldiers, law enforcement officers, and yes, government-trained assassins, it’s an important skill for civilians to learn as well. In a dangerous situation, being aware of a threat even seconds before everyone else can keep you and your loved ones safe. But it’s also a skill that can and should be developed for reasons outside of personal defense and safety. Situational awareness is really just another word for mindfulness, and developing mine has made me more cognizant of what’s going on around me and more present in my daily activities, which in turn has helped me make better decisions in all aspects of my life. I’ve spent months researching and talking to experts in the tactical field about the nature of situational awareness, and below you’ll find one of the most complete primers out there on how to gain this important skill. While the focus is primarily on developing your situational awareness to prevent or survive a violent attack, the principles discussed can also help hone your powers of observation in all areas of your life."
"What do loss of confidence, loss of faith in financial systems, and pervasive lies have to do with gold and silver? The answer begins with: Gold is far more truthful money – central banks can’t print it or create it from “thin air.” Dollars, euros, yen and others are fiat currency units based on confidence and debt (not assets) and are supported by government mandates that these pieces of colored paper and computerized digits shall be accepted as money. But confidence in debt based currencies promoted by insolvent governments is clearly waning. The Russians and Chinese understand – they are converting dollars, yuan, and rubles into gold. Europe, Japan and the U.S. are “printing” more euros, yen, and dollars hoping that “extend and pretend” will give the politicians more years in office, another war or two, and more profits for the military contractors and bankers. When propaganda and “statistics” fail, there are always diversions like bombs and invasions. (What happened to the gold from Iraq, Libya, and the Ukraine? If gold has little value, why did it disappear so quickly?) What happens when another financial calamity occurs? Something major can and will occur in the next few years. Possibilities: derivative crisis in Europe (Greek bonds anyone?); tactical nukes in Ukraine; cyberattack on US, Japanese or European banking systems; fall of the Petrodollar; credit collapse in China; US T-bond crash; an audit of the gold in Fort Knox (just kidding); or many other possibilities. Assume a major financial crisis occurs within five years:"
"Guidelines that told millions of people to avoid butter and full-fat milk should never have been introduced, say experts. The startling assertion challenges advice that has been followed by the medical profession for 30 years. The experts say the advice from 1983, aimed at reducing deaths from heart disease, lacked any solid trial evidence to back it up."
"Ajit Pai, one of two Republican Commissioners on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), inferred in a tweet that President Barack Obama’s secret, 332-page “Net Neutrality” document is a scheme for federal micro-managing of the Internet to extract billions in new taxes from consumers and again enforce progressives’ idea of honest, equitable, and balanced content fairness."
"Are you, your family or your community at risk of turning to violent extremism? That’s the premise behind a rating system devised by the National Counterterrorism Center, according to a document marked For Official Use Only. The document–and the rating system–is part of a wider strategy for Countering Violent Extremism, which calls for local community and religious leaders to work together with law enforcement and other government agencies. The White House has made this approach a centerpiece of its response to terrorist attacks around the world and in the wake of the Paris attacks, announced plans to host an international summit on Countering Violent Extremism on February 18th."
"Home canning is a great way to preserve food. It’s an old-fashioned skill that has undergone a lot of research, resulting in modern updates. Sometimes people are resistant to these updates. When I recently published my book, The Organic Canner, I can’t tell you how many emails I received telling me, for example, that a pressure canner isn’t necessary. That the reader’s grandma used a water bath canner for everything and she lived to the ripe old age of 114. That by my adherence to the guidelines set forth by the USDA, I’m “selling out” and kowtowing to the government. One person even wrote that he “used to read my website but no longer would” since my book followed the USDA recommendations for canning. There’s a very good reason that I adhere to those guidelines. To do otherwise could be deadly. A Washington state man, attorney Mike O’Connell, learned this lesson the hard way recently, when he ended up in the emergency room with all of the symptoms of a stroke-in-progress. He was dizzy. His legs were so rubbery they would hardly hold him up. He was experiencing double vision."
"Drive into tiny Conoy Township, Pa., and you’ll see the standard “welcome” sign, but it also comes with a warning: “THIS IS NOT A GUN FREE ZONE.” The signs are meant to alert criminals to the fact that many people in the rural Pennsylvania town of 3,000 are armed. A dozen have been installed so far and three more are slated to go up, which would cover every major road into the town. Officials hope the signs give would-be criminals second thoughts before causing trouble. “I think even those who have bad intentions can read,” Stephen Mohr, one of the township supervisors, told FoxNews.com. He said the town’s five supervisors unanimously decided to put the signs up. Mohr noted that the intent of the signs is to welcome good people to their town."
"Half of our nation, by all reasonable estimates of human need, is in poverty. The jubilant headlines above speak for people whose view is distorted by growing financial wealth. The argument for a barely surviving half of America has been made before, but important new data is available to strengthen the case."
"Are we on the verge of a major worldwide economic downturn? Well, if recent warnings from prominent bankers all over the world are to be believed, that may be precisely what we are facing in the months ahead. As you will read about below, the big banks are warning that the price of oil could soon drop as low as 20 dollars a barrel, that a Greek exit from the eurozone could push the EUR/USD down to 0.90, and that the global economy could shrink by more than 2 trillion dollars in 2015. Most of the time, very few people ever actually read the things that the big banks write for their clients. But in recent months, a lot of these bankers are issuing such ominous warnings that you would think that they have started to write for The Economic Collapse Blog. Of course we have seen this happen before. Just before the financial crisis of 2008, a lot of people at the big banks started to get spooked, and now we are beginning to see an atmosphere of fear spread on Wall Street once again. Nobody is quite sure what is going to happen next, but an increasing number of experts are starting to agree that it won’t be good."
"As the world continues to digest breaking news out of Greece, today the Godfather of newsletter writers, 90-year old Richard Russell, warned that the global crisis will get even worse, so investors need to dump all common stocks and buy gold and silver. Russell also discussed why even tougher times are still ahead for the world. Richard Russell: “I had expected an upside blow-off to occur, based on the trillions of fiat money that has recently been created. I had also expected the world’s debt load to be lowered. However, I now see that instead of world debt heading lower, the debt load has actually been accelerating to the upside. The world’s balance sheet is now worse than ever. I’m afraid that the prevailing forces of deflation will take over. If we go into a spiral of deflation, it will surely bring about hard times – harder times than the generations since WWII have seen. On this basis, I advise my subscribers to buy and hold physical silver and gold and be out of all common stocks. "
